Legal Question in Workers Comp in Iowa
Working in Iowa
I am currently employeed in Waterloo, IA. I was hired on to this position as full time, which includes benefits. Lately, the job has been slashing hours across the board. For the past 3 weeks, I have worked 9, 8, and 11 hours (instead of the 40 I was expecting). Other than applying for Partial Unemployment Benefits (which I have), is there any legal recourse that I have regarding this?

Re: Working in Iowa
Iowa is a "right to work" state; meaning the union can't force you out because you refuse to join the union. Unless you have a written employment contract the employer is free to cut your hours.
