Failure to declare items
If one fails to declare merchandise upon entry to Israel and it exceeds amount allowed if the person is a US citizen what are the possible penalties?

Yes. The Israeli custom law allows only a certain amount of some merchandise, to be imported without taxation upon entry to Israel. Exceeding the amount allowed, is a criminal offense, with no discrimination of citizenship. The possible penalties depend upon the circumstances.
