Legal Question in Insurance Law in Italy

We have been involved in a car accident in Italy. A german driver in his german registered and insured car was at fault. He run a stop sign. We submitted or claim to the german insurance company . The german insurance company advised us that they only need to pay for the repair cost of 4.800.00 euros as the accident happened in Italy and Italien insurance law does not cover for 1. rental car during repair time, 2. loss of use during repair time, 3.loss of value to our car, we would like to know if the Italien insurance law specifies and will let us collect for the above. Thank you

Italian law does cover loss of use during repair time, and other damages that you are able to prove.
