Legal Question in Insurance Law in Italy

Italian Legal Fees (Insurance Case)

I am in the military serving in Italy. I was recently in an accident and was not at fault. I hired an Italian lawyer to facilitate my settlement, and was wondering if he/she can legally ask for more money than is included in the ''Legal Fees'' portion of the settlement. i.e If I recieved $20,000 total, and in the on the check was written ''$18,000 for pain and suffering, $2,000 for legal fees'', can my lawyer legally say he wants an additional $1,000?

Re: Italian Legal Fees (Insurance Case)

Yes, he can, since the Insurance Companies usually liquidate only a 10-12% of the the total damage amount in legal fees.

If the lawyer has done more professional activity than that paid by the Insurance Company, he can ask to his Client for more fees.

Obviosly, the lawyer can't ask more than what is provided by the Bar Association rate table for the typology and value of the work done.

Kind Regards.
