I was charged with falsely reporting a crime.
What will be my penalty?

Assuming you did this in Kansas, under KSA 21-3818, you can be charged with a class A nonperson misdemeanor. This can result in up to a year in jail and up to a $2500 fine. Do not plead guilty.
