Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kansas
Bankruptcy
My mother passed away & left my father in debt. There is a mortgage on the house, an auto loan, credit cards & medical bills. He is on a fixed income (78 yoa). Is banckruptcy an option?

Yes. But before one elects a bankruptcy, one would have to know what is assets are and determine what the impact of bankruptcy would be. It may be that he is judgment proof and doesn't need to take a bankruptcy. His creditor's may not be able to collect anything. However, some people file the bankruptcy to eliminate the hassell of dealing with creditors.
