Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kansas
Bankruptcy and remarriage
I am currently starting the proceedings for filing bankruptcy. I am now planning on being remarried. I do not want to have my fiance' involved with my past debt. If I remarry before the bankruptcy is settled would it case a problem. I understand it will take about 6 months from the time it is filed and want to know if the information will be established at the time of filing or if they can add to it at any time.

Re: Bankruptcy and remarriage
I certainly hope that your bankruptcy filing is being done for you by legal counsel. . .that person should have well advised you of the possible consequences of marriage prior to filing and discharge of debts in the action. This is not a 'do it yourself' area of the law in my opinion. Get legal counsel if u don't have it now.
