Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kansas
Child Support and Bankruptcy
My ex-wife has filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I received a notice of this in the mail. I cannot foigure out why I am on the mailing list as a "debtor" other than the back child support she owes. Is child support a debt she can write off through a bankruptcy?

Re: Child Support and Bankruptcy
Some debts are not dischargeable and child support is one of those debts. She must continue to pay child support and the arrearages. See my web page for more information on child support and bankruptcy. www.attorney-4u.com
