Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Kansas
My mothers latest boyfriend convinced her to put his name under her credit cards, while she was going through breast cancer. She thought she was being nice and bam, within two months he had run up a 20k bill. Shortly thereafter he moved to a different state. Is their any way he would have responsibility to these costs? She is now going to have to file bankruptcy after having nearly perfect credit her entire life.

Under the facts you described, your mother can sue her ex for repayment. She should consult directly with a civil practice attorney in her area.
Good luck
