An employer may not reduce the e pay between when you work, and when you're paid. But, businesses make changes. They give people raises, and fire others, as they make decisions about their profitability. It is conceivable that they would offer to keep an employee, but at a lower pay rate than before. And, you're not required to keep working for the same employer.
Good luck
