Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kansas
WAS ARRESTED FOR DRIVING ON SUSPENDED. mY 2 YO DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME. THE COP MADE ME LEAVE HER WITH A STRANGER TO HER. THEY SEARCHED MY VEHICLE WITHOUT PERMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALLY LEGAL. THEY NEVER READ ME MY RIGHTS. WHEN I ASKED WHY HE PULLED ME OVER HE STATED 'BECAUSE I CAN" IS THIS LEGAL. SECOND PART IS IF I GET MY LISCENSE REINSTATED BEFORE COURT WILL THEY DROP THE CHARGES

If the officer did not have a reasonable suspicion that you wre breaking a law, then he may not have had probable cause to arrest you. If you get yrou license reinstated before your court date, the prosecutor may be more likely to work out a plea agreement. If you have counsel, this may be even more likely. If you plan to plead not guilty and contest teh reasonableness of teh stop, you should have an attorney argue the cae for you.
