Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kansas
I live in California and own a home in Kansas. I hired a person in Kansas to do work on the home they did not do. I am going to spend money either way to recover the money ($3500) If I hire an attorney, do I have a better chance at recovering money owed and can I include damages and attorney's fees? In the last 6 months I have documentation of numerous offered resolutions with no response. I also would appreciate a referral to an attorney in South East Kansas, Montgomery County

Given that you're many miles away, you will probably do better having am attorney, or attorney in fact pursue the debt for you. Depending upon the agreement you had with the workman, you might get attorney fees. You did not describe your damages, so it is impossible to assess whether you can recover for those.
Good luck
