Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kansas
i was recently acussed of theft by a local merchant it went to trial and was found not guilty i would like to have my attorney fess paid would this be a civil or small claims case as it is only about 600.00 dollars

If you have sufficent grounds for getting your fees, you may be able to raise the claim for fees in the criminal case. or you may bring it as a small claims case of making a false report, or possibly slander/libel, depending upon how the report was made. It is very seldom that a criminal defendant has sufficient grounds for attorney fees against an alleged defendant, as the prosecutor makes the decision to prosecute or not.
