do you have to be served with a search warrant befor law enforcement can search the property

I assume this means real property, like your home or yard. The answer is usually yes unless there are outstanding circumstances that require an immediate search. Again, I assume this is an issue of criminal investigation and there are many, many cases on this issue and they are all very dependent on the facts of the situation.
