Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kansas

Over two years ago, i purchased a used vehicle, and traded in my old sonata. They gave me money for the trade on the loan. At the time of the trade i didnt have a tangible title in hand. The car company told me that they would take care of the title by filing a lost title and since the vehicle wasnt running, i was unable to bring it to the dealership. They said they would come pick it up. After a week or two, i contacted them and reminded them that the vehicle was still here and they needed to come pick it up. They never came to pick it up or contact me. The local authorities put a slip on my car since the plates were expired and isnt hasnt moved for a long time. The authorities heard why it is still there and they decided to let it reside there without towing it or a fine. I would like to know what my options are. Since all of this, i have recently refinanced my vehicle through a different loan provider. Im curious if i still have possession and if i can get rid of this vehicle or not. There isn't enough information provided I fully answer your questions. The answer would depend a great deal upon what your trade in agreement says. You can probably get rid of the vehicle without suffering liability later. But, you need to have an attorney read and advise you as to your sale and trade in agreement, before you do anything with the vehicle. Many surveys use a free or low cost initial consultation. Gather your pertinent documents and go see one.
