Legal Question in Construction Law in Kansas

Hi, I have an invoice for the installation of an air conditioner for a home dated 12-7-07 that states that the AC unit and installation costs have been paid for and will be installed at customer's request. For various reasons that I can get in to if needed, the refurb on the home needed to come to a halt. The refurb has now continued and the home is ready for the installation of the AC unit, but I contacted the company for the install they informed me that the original owner had filed bankruptcy and that the business has since been bought by another HVAC company. The business name, phone number, and address are all still the same, but the new owner informed me that he's not going to honor what was stated in the invoice that I have due to the length of time and the fact that the business has a new owner. Is there anything that I can do?

Thanks,

Barron

You might be able to sue the previous ir present owners (or the company if it is incorporated). But, yoy may be vulnerable to a statute of limitations defense. Generally, you would have five years from the date of the last signed writing to bring suit.

Good luck
