Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kansas
2 1/2 years ago I signed a contract with a med spa to auto withdraw 100 per month from my account to accrued into for services. After finding it is very difficult to get appointments I emailed the billing manager and asked her to cancel my membership. I thought it was taken care of. I looked at that account this month and found they had not stopped withdrawing the money. I called the office and they informed me that I was on an auto renewal and since the contract renews in December and since I sent written notice in January that it was too late. They also said they sent me an email telling me this. I did not receive this email. I would like to recover the 600.00 they have taken between January and now. I have not used their services in a year. I also would like to not have to continue paying between now and December. This medspa is overseen by a physician. Don't they have ethical responsibilities to good business practices? Do I have any legal standing? I have called the medspa manager and left a message for her to call me back a couple of weeks ago and she has not returned my call. Is there anything I can do?

Based on the facts you described, you need to register a complaint with the office of the attorney general. You may also need to sue the spa. Consult directly with a civil practice attorney in your area.
