Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kansas
I bought a used car and 2 days later it needs $1,500 in transmission work can I sue the dealer for the repairs?
1 Answer from Attorneys
One can almost always file a law suit The real question is, who is likely to prevail? If you bought the car "as is," and the dealer did not hide or disguise the bad transmission, you may be only likely to prevail against the mechanic that you paid to check out, or inspect, the car before you bought it. If you didn't get the car inspected first, you may have to rely on whatever warranty came with the transaction.
If you did not get your own mechanic to check out the car, you might have relied upon warranties, promises or statements about the cars history and condition.
If you can't resolve thus on your own within a week or so, you might need to consult directly with a civil practice attorney in your area.
Good luck
