Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kansas
city water bill
I live In Wichita Ks. and get a bill evry 6 mo. from the Wichita water dept. It was only 6 dollers 10 years ago and now it up to 12 dollers. You might think that's a great water bill but I don't have Wichita city water. I am on a well and septic system. To me that is not fair at all. That's like wal-mart billing me every 6 months just for there presence, and forcing mr to pay up. That's STEALING if you ask me! Do I have any legal recourse to stop these bills or do I just have to keep on paying them for no services what so ever, just because they say so?

Re: city water bill
Part of what each property owner is billed for is for storm drainage. If you live on an unpaved road and there are no storm drains in the vicinity of your property, you may be able to stop these bills. If there is a paved road that touches your property or there is a storm drain downhill from your property, you owe the bill.
