Can a insurance company or agent increase your home owners coverage, in turns increases my premium. My company or agent did this without my knowledge or approval.

Re: Home owners insurance increase
An insurance policy is a contract. Generally, one party to a contract cannot alter the contract without the agreement of the other party. However, many policies include a clause where the insured (you) give the other side permission to increase the coverage (and premium) if the cost of repair or replacement changes. You will have to examine yoru particular policy, or have someone else examine it, to see what you have agreed to. You might consider changing insurance companies, or agents.
