Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kansas
I have made agreement with a person to do some work on a recently purchased RV. I have receipts showing that I have given him $480 in advance cash, to buy materials for repair. He has also taken my furnace unit and has it in his possession. The problem is, he is not doing any work, and I have notified him that I am cancelling our agreement, and want him to return my cash, my furnace and any materials he may have already purchased for any repairs we agreed on. He is not being cooperative, and I think I am being scammed. I have 2 phone numbers that are valid, so he is reachable.
My question: Can I file charges of theft, for him not returning my furnace, and cash?

You can sue for the return of your money, or what you spend on having someone else do the work. From what you described, it does not sound like theft yet.
Good luck
