Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

5 Years ago, I worked with a lady who had 3 kids and one on the way she was my manager, her boyfriend was in jail and she could not afford her uitilites. She asked me if she could put them in my name until she could pay her deposit later that month. Because I was 19 I said yes as long as she paid it. One month later she told me it was out of my name and paid for, now I am being told she did not take it out of my name and she owes 1654.00 on the bill they are keeping my taxes for, also they told me that she called in many times asking she was me and making changes to the account. What can I do to get my money back and how do I get it out of my name?

Close the accounts. Then hire counsel to sue her, or you can sue her yourself in small claims court. You opened the account(s) in your name, so the utilities probably don't owe you anything for before the date you tell them to close the account(s).

Good luck
