Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas
An apartment kicked us out because some random drunk guy broke into our apartments and that was the second time we had to call the cops. Can they do that to us? And now they're wanting money from it (from kicking us out early) and from the damages the guy did when he broke in.

You may be wise to be proactive, You may have to sue to stop the termiantion of yrou lease and the eviction. If they have already field suit to evict you, you might need to countersue or raise the randomness of the break-in as a defense. Bring the police report you filed at the time of the break-in as evidence, to show that you had nothing to do with the damage. You might want to hire counsel to either assist you in preparting your documents or represent you in court.
Good luck
