Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas
I was in a four car accident where I was the second car. All cars stopped except the last car which pinballed me causing me to hit the first car. Now the first car has asked for a claim that I denied because I felt it wasn't my fault. In addition to wanting a claim and being turned down they have now suspended my license as result. How should I handle this?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Your insurer should handle this for you. This is more common than you think. It takes a while to fully explain it, but in these types of collisions, the driver that is hit can go after all the drivers behind them, who are each somewhat liable. If your liability insurer doesn't handle it, you should consult directly with an attorney. If you did not have insurance, or you failed to provide their information to the driver in front of you, you should consult directly with an attorney now. Your license will remain suspended until you get this addressed. If you want to contact me via email. I may be able to get your license reinstated soon.
Good luck
