Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas
Collecting Debts
I loaned a family member a large sum of money. I wonder if there is a statute of limitations on collecting in Kansas. The money was loaned in 1996. No effort has been made by the borrower to reduce the debt.

Re: Collecting Debts
Kansas has a 3 year Statute of Limitations for non-written contracts. K.S.A. 60-512. 5 years on written contracts. K.S.A. 60-511. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
