Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

My dad just received a letter from a hospital that my dad was taken, when some guy hit him over the head with a guitar. The cost was around $7,000. When my dad got out of the hospital, my dad, his lawyer and the guy who hit him over the head. Sat down and made a agreement. The agreement was that he was suppose to pay for all the medical bills. The lawyer had my dad and "the guy" sign some papers. forward 9 years since that incident. The hospital is now wanting that unpaid bills, and they will take my dad to court if he doesn't pay them. The reason for that is because the guy bailed out on the payment and we don't know where he is now. Now here the thing, we lost all the paper work to that agreement and don't remember the name of the lawyer. How can I obtain the paper work, and get in contact with that lawyer. We need to show paper work to the hospital that my dad is not the one who they need to go after.

It is very unlikely that the hospital will be dissuaded form pursuing yrou Dad, if you find a copy o fhteh agreement he signed with the guy. It appears that the hospital was nto part of the agreement and thus are nto bound by it. but, if sounds like the statute of limitations has expired on the hospitals ability to sue your father. Get a new lawyer, if you cannot find the old one.

Good luck
