Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

Garnishment

my ex-husband contracted a loan at a time that we were divorced and he failed to repay the loan. As a result the bank is garnishing my paycheck. I have no knowledge aboutthis, so please what should I do? can I sue the bank? who should be named in the suit?

thank you for your help

Re: Garnishment

When the garnishment Order was served upon the bank, you should have gotten written notice and oppotunity to contest the garnishment. If it is not too late, do that now.

If the time has run, you may still be successful with a Motion to quash or set aside the Order of garnishment. You will probably need an attorney to handle that.

You did not indicate the nature of the debt. If they are garnishing you wages, they must have gotten judgmetn against you. Did you dispute that case before it went to judgment?

Good Luck
