i have a grnishment on my check for a car that got repoed. Can they take my taxes too

I assume that you are referring to an income tax refund check. While it may be technically possible to garnish a tax refund check, in practical sense it is so tough that most creditors don't bother with it.
If you were not talking about your refund check, but rather the regular withholding on yrou paycheck, the answer is different. You employer is to figure the amount that can be held, based upon your net earnings. That means after taxes and the like are taken out. If you feel that too much is being taken out, you may go to your company's HR department, or file an objection in the court that is handling the collection case.
