Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

I have been hit with an unexpected hospital bill in KS.. I am trying to work out payments, but the lawyer is refusing to allow that, despite my inability to pay one lump sum. A hearing is scheduled this week, but I live 6 hours away. What are my options and must I appear?

If you do not appear to why the chain, or file an answer denying the ckauns if the petition n, they will take Judgment by default. Perhaps u should hire an attorney to at least help you prepare a Pro Se Answer, if not represent you in Court. In most KS coubtues, if you file your Answer, you won't have to appear at the Answer docket.
