Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas
I just got a letter from a collection group that said they are going to garnish my wages for a debt that is 17 years old. They said they have attempted to contact me from the time period of 1998 - 2007 but have not tried sense until they sent this letter to me two days ago. Can they actually collect on something this old with 8 years of not even attempting to collect?

Kansas has different statutes of limitations (periods in which a suit can be brought or action taken to execute on a judgment) it sounds like they may be out of time to collect this debt. But, you may need to consult directly with a Kansas licensed attorney, to find out.
Good luck
