Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

If I'm making monthly payments on a doctor bill can they legally turn me over to collections because they don't feel I'm paying them enough money each month on this bill

Unless they've agreed to buy pursue the total amount, partial payments don't prevent collection.
