Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

Parents medical debt responsibilites for an adult child

I am planning to remarry in September. My finance has an unmarried son age 31 who has no medical or life insurance. The son lives in Kansas, but is moving this week to Alaska where he will be employed in a somewhat ''dangerous'' job and the company offers no health/life insurance. If he gets seriously injured/dies can his father (next of kin) be held accountable for his medical expenses?

Do I need to protect myself from this situation since I have money I received from my first marriage? If so, what do you suggest I do?

Re: Parents medical debt responsibilites for an adult child

I don't know of any state where a parent is held responsible for an adult child, unless the child is incompetent and the parents have been awarded guardianship.
