Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

I am wanting to know can I be made to pay for medical bills that are over 15 to 20 years old? I did at one time offer to pay them some money on the bill but they did not want what I could pay them. Do medical bills get too old?

Under the facts you described, you may ask that a Kansas suit based upon this debt be dismissed due expiration of the applicable statute of limitations. You may also file suit against any collector that attemtps to collect the debt from you, even if the creditor does not sue you. This is the case, if you have not made a promise to pay or revive the debt within the last five years. You may want to meet directly with a collection attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation. Let them look at all the documentation you have. They can ask you follow-up questions and advise you as to your options.

Good luck
