Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
DUI anonymity informing
I know of a man who is *way* out of control with his drinking and driving. He continues to do so on a nightly basis despite a recent DUI conviction (this is his 3rd, w/ the other two being in Texas, although he claimed in court that he had no previous convictions). Talking to him has not helped, and Ive concluded the only way to save him fr. himself and society is to anonymously inform law-enforcement and his probation officer of his perjury previous convictions and continued DUI. How do I do this anonymously and hope for some type of response?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Probation officer. . .
If you know who the probation officer is, converse w/him or her--they have the authority to refer the person to the appropriate level of alcohol and drug treatment. You might consider an intervention w/him, friends and family.
