Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

Embezzlement of an estate

My aunt and uncle have just recenly passed away.I was told for 30 years I was going to inherit the estate upon my aunt & uncle's death. A woman that befriended him and visited him embezzled his entire estate. I called to find out when the estate was going to be settled and she advised me that had already happened and she got everything. I asked what happened to the will and she responded there wasn't one. My aunt & uncle were very meticulous about their finicials and always told me there was a will. I would like to know what type of attorney I should hire to search further into this situation. Also, if I have a valid case.

The type of attorney you need is a litigator, that is a trial lawyer. If your relatives were defrauded by that woman, she will have to answer to you in a lawsuit to contest the transfer of assets. Feel free to call me anytime. Good luck.

If your aunt and uncle lived in Kansas,(or the real property is in Kansas), you need a probate attorney admitted to practice in Kansas. I suggest David Anderson (816) 753-5900. I think he recently handled a case similar to yours for a California Plaintiff. He may be able to give you specific advice after hearing more of the specifc facts from your case, or direct you to someone who can. Keep in mind that there is a limited amount of time in which to bring estate matters.

Good Luck
