Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
Embezzlement
When I was terminated from my employer, I accessed their accounting system and gave quite a few employees, including myself, a raise. All of the money that the company paid out to the current employees was recovered. The only money that they did not recover was the money I received, which was roughly about $350.00. I was contacted by the FBI regarding this matter and plan on talking to them again, and basically confessing. What crime can they actually charge me with? Would it be a felony or misdemeanor? Should I confess or make them track me down through my IP address? Thanks!

Re: Embezzlement
It is surprising that you would be contacted by the FBI on athe situation you described. Are you certain it is not someone just saying they are from the FBI?
Before you confess to anything, or even give your identity, you should consult with an attorney in more depth than is possible here. You could potentially get twenty years with no chance for parole.
