I'm tring to help a friend out he has a misdeamor battery charge that 5 years old and hasn't been in any trouble since can he get this removed.

He might contact the prosecutor's office out of which the conviction came. . .if they agree the expungement is appropriate, it could facilitate the preparation of the paperwork.
