Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
My friend was charged with Obstruct of legal process, non felony. He went to 2 court dates but missed his third because he got evicted and moved out of state. Recently picked up extradited from current state to the state he was charged. Now they are charging him with aggravated failure to appear. Which I've googled and says it's strictly for felons. We have little money for a lawyer. Can't we just call the Prosecuting Attorney and have them look up that the original charge was only a misdemeanor?

your friend may contact the Prosecutor. Unless you're are a licensed attorney, or your friend has given you a formal power of attorney appointment, you may not contact on his behalf.
Good luck
