Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
My husband is mouthy and make some comments on Facebook about his mother's neighbors shot guns and shot her dog and the cops don't care about it. Which his mother did call 911 but they told her it was out of city limits and they wouldn't be breaking any laws. Anyway I need to know if he will get arrested for making any comments on Facebook. He didn't threaten anyone but the sheriff came to his moms house saying he is getting charges against him I guess. Can they do that when he didn't say anything that bad on Facebook and he even apologized before hand too
1 Answer from Attorneys
It is unclear waht charges a county sheriff might be able to make regarding comments on social networks between adults. Perhaps he was just trying to console the mother. But, as you did not include any of the exact postings your husband made, he should consult directly witha criminal defense attorney in his area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation. If possible, print out the postings nda take them with him.
Good luck
