Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
lying officer
recently I was arrested for possession of marijuana. It was night time outside, and the police officer said that the reason he took my friend in was that he saw him throw the pipe out the window. My friend had nothing on him, and i told the officer that everything was mine.
The police searched the car and couldnt find anything besides the marijuana that i willingly handed over.
But the officer said that the reason he arrested my friend too was because he saw him loading the bowl, and then saw him throw it out the window. My question is, how can an officer see someone throw a black pipe out a window when its pitch black outside? The officer essentially lied to my parents and my friends legal guardian. The way i know my friend didnt throw the pipe out the window, is because when i was cleaning out my car, i found the pipe in the back seat of the car?
the police have a drawing of the pipe. i literally drew a picture of what the pipe looked like. Is there any way that my friend can be aquitted of the crime that hes being accused of? since i have evidence that he did NOT in fact do what the officer said he did?

Re: lying officer
If you testify for the defense at your friend's hearing, it may help them get aquitted. But, your testimony in their trial may be used to convict you. They may even charge you with more than possession. Consult directly with an attorney before you decide what to do.
