Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

Can police search a business without a search warrant or being called to the business? i.e. an adult bookstore. If the police have not been called to the business for any reason, and they are not executing a search warrant, do they have a legal right to be able to show up and enter the business and make any arrests?

If the busyness is open to the public, the is little to refrain officers from entering the public areas of the business. From there, they may make note of what they see, hear and smell. You did not indicate if officers searched beyond the public access area if the.business.

If you were accused of a crime, you should consult directly with a criminal defense attorney, in your area, soon.

Good luck
