Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
Should I take a polygraph test , in regards to a recent homicide ?
1 Answer from Attorneys
No. You should not take a polygraph test or answer any questions or give any statemetns until you have consulted directly with a criminal defense attorney in your area. Too many people are sitting in jail becase they "tried to help out the police." who got them to confess to something rather than go look for the real culprits. If an officer asks you to submit to a test tell them "not until I confer with legal counsel of my choosing/" You will not look guilty for saying that, and refusing to submit to the test can't be used against you in court. Go fidn an attorney soon. Tell thenm all the facts, and make yourself available for follow-up questions from that attorney . Many offer a free or low cost intial consultation.
Good luck
