You should request a court appointed attorney. The judge should provide you with one.

If you can get the money together, you might do better hiring an attorney. Ask yourself "what can I afford while in jail"? If you truly are poor, the Court will appoint one for you. But, if the Judge feels you are asking for an appointed attorney more because you won't pay for one rather than that you can't pay for one, he might be less likely to accept that you have learned a leson from your arrest. If the judge feesl you have learned nothing thus far, and you the State can make its case against you, he may be more likely to have you do some jail time.

Good Luck
