Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
I was served a warrant for an incident that occurred in Nov. 2009. Yet the warrant paper work has that the incident took place in Nov. 2008. I f the warrant paperwork has a 2008 date on it , can I be charged if the incident really took place in 2009

Wrong dates or other errors in the police generated documents goes toward the reliability of the documents, but may not be automatic grounds for dismissing the charges. Mistakes by the court in the issuance of the warrant can go toward having other evidence excluded, that was gathered as part of the execution (serving) of the warrant, and then may be cause to have the charges dismissed. You should consutl directly with an attorney in your area to give you advice specific to your case. Many offer a free or low cost intial consultation.
