Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
shoplifting
My daughter was picked up for shoplifting in Overland Park, Johnson County Kansas. She has no prior record of any type. What are the penalties? Is diversion an option? What will this cost?

Re: shoplifting
I would contact the DA's office and inquire about a possible diversion without admitting anything. They may have a diversion policy for first time offending minors.
