Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
My son's auto tags had expired. A friend altered his tag as a joke. I know that sounds lame but it is true. Long story short, he got stopped, no ticket for speeding but he did get a ticket for the tag. Do we need to seek an attorney, or is this a district court matter. Not sure what we need to do. Thanks

Your Son may want to at least consult direclty with an attorney in his area, as this is a moving violation, that can affect his insurance and driving record. But, in many jurisdictiojns, if the car is now legally licensed the prosecutor will reduce or dismiss the tag charges. Having an attorney may increae the chances of this happening.
Good luck
