They can pursue you, but probably will not for two misdemenanors. But, you will have warrants if you fail to appear. In some rare cases, those warrants could become felonies of their own. If you go to Missouri, or one of the other states bordering KAnsas, you increase the likelihood that foreign state police will hold you until Kansas decides to extradite, should you get picked up.

Regardless of where you go, if they have your fingerprint, SS# or DNA, the arests and subsequent warrants can hound you for years. If you flee the state, the statute of limitations will not run, so you might be tried twenty years down the road, shoudl you come back to the Kansas. Also any significant background check could result in the arrest and warrant(s) in this case to cost prevent you form getting jobs, apartments, etc. in other states. If you were arraigned, the state of Kansas can try you n yoru absence, therefore making for an deasy conviction, as you will have presented no defense.

I suggest you not run or ignore these charges. This is a general description of what might occur, based upon your general description of the situation. Before you risk all the above, you should consult direclty with legal counsel in your area, as to the specific facts and circumstances of your case. Many attorneys offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
