Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas
How much time can I be suspected to be put in jail
I have commited 4 felonys, 4 counts of burglury, 1 count of possesion of stolen property, and 1 count of destruction of property. I am only 16 and I was wondering what is the absolute max they can put me in jail, and what is the absolute minimum they can put me in jail. And 1 more question if i can, what do you think they will do to me since I have no felonys or charges from before this?

Re: How much time can I be suspected to be put in jail
Two possibilities arise:
1. The prosecutor will determine whether to prosecute you as an adult or a juvenile; if you have prior ADJUDICATIONS (convictions if you were an adult)or if the present charges involved endangered others, you might anticipate the county attorney requesting that the court permit the state to proceed against you as an adult. Should the court grant such a motion, and you were convicted as an adult, with no prior record, depending on whether the burglaries were of a residence, a business or a vehicle, your sentence would be anywhere from 5 months to 34 months in the custody of the department of corrections.
2. If the state proceeds against you as a juvenile, the worst possible scenarios are that you would be removed from the care, custody and control of your family and placed in juvenile detention for the same periods of time set forth hereinabove.
I cannot be more specific w/o more details of the charges. . .hope this helps.
The greatest damage which will occur is to your criminal history, which may haunt you when making application for future education, employment, etc. Most job applications or professional applications ask if you have ever been convicted of a crime of deceit (burglary, theft, etc.) You cannot go to court w/o counsel representing you at your age. . .why haven't you asked these questions of that person? They know better details of the situation than do I.
