Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Kansas

Racial Threats Against Minority

Is there there any legal precident preventing someone from harassing a minority with lawsuits and threats to do everything possible to ''financially ruin'' the minority and his family? I work for a minority who owns a small business and is being sued by someone who has claimed that a contract was altered among other false acusations. During this time he has recieved many threatening phone calls at his home in the evening conataining racial comments.

Re: Racial Threats Against Minority

If the person who has filed the suit is acting maliciously, and engaging inother behavior that might even be criminal, there should be ways to stop the behavior. Among other things, civil rights laws might come into play which prohibit these kinds of actions based upon racial hostility. Consider seeking attorneys' fees, a claim for abuse of process, and even some other claims related to so-called economic torts. You have a complicated issue and should consult a competent attorney. The information is for information purposes only and is not intended to establish an attorney-client relationship. You need to consult with an attorney who can fully gather the relevant facts and spend some time doing research.
