Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
I have 3 children by 3 different men. I have shared joint custody of my oldest child and sole custody of my youngest child. I recently broke up with the father of my 3rd child after he hit and choked me. I called the police and they were going to issue him a ticket, however he was uncooperative and they ended up arresting him. I have been to CPS and they established a visitation schedule, which he rarely follows. Now, he is threatening to get custody of our child and my 2nd child. I do not have a lot of money, do I need a lawyer?

The answer to the question "do I need a lawyer?" is almost always "Yes" Yousaid all three kids were by different men, so it is unclear how the father of one, would get custody of another's child. It soun ds like an empty threat as to that kid. But, there are not enough facts to tell your if he likely to succeed in getting primary ciustody of his child. You might want to consult directly with an attorney in your area, as to the third child, because if he gets custody, you will be paying support to him. It should cost too much money, as this is your child were talking about.
Good luck
